Obligatne is a soulful, jazzy pop trio centered around Slovak singer, composer and guitarist Kristína Mindová. Having found the right sound of subtle harmonies and captivating grooves, they recorded their first LP Monolog Spásy, which was released via Brno-based label Kabinet Records on 18th March. The album was preceded by a successful single Bledá Tvár. During 2021, the band has echoed throughout the Czech-Slovak music scene with appearances at festivals like Okolojeles, Moody Moon Noize or Zlatá Chemie in Prague.

Originally Kristína’s solo bedroom project, the additional rhytm section created an environment where Kristína’s playful, tender lyrics can thrive. Musically, one could compare Obligatne to the likes of Alfa Mist or the czech band Nerez, while the lyrical components resemble deeply personal experiences of Courtney Barnett or Father John Misty.
